Sandberg
The Sandberg Institute, affiliated with the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, is named after Willem Sandberg, former director of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, designer and charismatic champion of all things new and different in art.
Since 1995, the Sandberg Institute has offered master programmes in Fine Arts, Applied Arts, Design and since 2010 Interior Architecture. The Sandberg Institute has a strong outward orientation. Where other master programmes emphasise isolation and contemplation, our philosophy is based on the lure, distraction and practical lessons of an active artists’ practice.
