Cinegrid Amsterdam

Luc Renambot Research and Education Pages published a gallery covering the VROOM at CineGrid Workshop 2011. We quote from the post:

“A few pictures of the VROOM (Virtual Room), a whole room covered with displays (lots of Optiportables and 4K projectors). All the LCDs panels are driven by SAGE. The projectors are driven by NTT J2K codecs. Here are few pictures during the SAGE demo with Keio University KMD about their creative work telling the story of the aftermath of the earthquake/tsunami in Japan…”

Namens CineGrid Amsterdam bezochten Betty Bonn (project manager) en Frank Kresin (research director) de jaarlijkse CineGrid conferentie in San Diego. Hier worden de laatste ontwikkelingen besproken op het terrein van 4K: extreem hoge kwaliteit audiovisuele productie, transmissie en vertoning.

Van 12-15 december 2010 wordt in San Diego (California, USA) voor de vijfde maal de internationale CineGrid workshop gehouden, georganiseerd door Pacific Interface Inc. en gehost door California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2).

Het programma van de workshops is te vinden op de internationale Cinegrid-website. Op het programma staat zeker niet alleen 4K, maar ook onderwerpen als ‘Remote Interactive Stereography Post-Production’, ‘JPEG 2000 Interoperability for CineGrid Exchange’, ’8K Film Production’ of ’3D HDTV to the Home’. Frank Kresin van Waag Society is aanwezig om het project met Holland Festival toe te lichten.
